Tickets for the Forbidden City in Beijing need to be reserved 7 days in advance through official channels. Reservations open at 20:00 every day. The following is the specific reservation process:

Appointment time

7 Ilang araw nang maaga: Tickets for the Palace Museum (including the main entrance ticket and tickets for the Clock and Watch Gallery and the Treasure Gallery) and exhibitions can be reserved starting from 20:00 7 days before the visit. They are only valid for use on the day of the visit. Halimbawa, if you plan to visit on June 25th, you need to start making reservations at 20:00 on June 18th.

No same-day tickets sold: The Palace Museum does not sell same-day tickets. Visitors need to plan and make reservations in advance.

Enter the reservation page:

In the wechat Mini Program, click on [Ticket Preview] to enter the reservation page.

Select the visiting date and time:

Choose the date and time slot you want to visit. The daily reservations for the Palace Museum are divided into two periods: the morning and the afternoon. The latest ticket checking time for audiences reserving the morning session is 12:00 on the same day, and for those reserving the afternoon session, the earliest is 11:00 on the same day.

Select the quantity and type of tickets:

Choose the number of tickets according to your needs. Note that different tickets are suitable for different groups of people. Halimbawa, Chinese citizens under the age of 18 (including residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and foreigners with permanent residence rights) can visit for free, but they need to make an appointment in advance.

Enter identity information:

The Palace Museum implements a real-name ticket purchasing system. All visitors need to enter their identity information before making a reservation. Mainland Chinese audiences can only use their ID cards for ticket booking and inspection. Non-mainland Chinese audiences are requested to use their Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, Mainland Travel Permits for Taiwan Residents, Residence Permits for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Residents, Permanent Residence ID Cards for Foreigners, and passports. The same certificate can only reserve one ticket per visiting day.

Confirm the order and make the payment

After verifying that the order information is correct, make the payment. Ticket prices vary by season. During the peak season (April 1st to October 31st), it is 60 yuan per person, and during the off-season (November 1st to March 31st of the following year), it is 40 yuan per person. The admission ticket for the Treasure House is 10 yuan per person.

Reservation successful

After the payment is successful, you will receive a notification of the successful reservation. On the day of the visit, you must enter through the Meridian Gate (the south Gate of the Forbidden City) with the valid identification used during the reservation. Audience members who are unable to have their tickets checked due to loss, damage or other unexpected circumstances must enter the hospital with valid documents such as household registration books, medical insurance cards or driver’s licenses that can prove the identity information of the ticket holders.

Precautions

Refund Policy: Unused tickets can be refunded through the original booking channel before 24:00 on the day before the visit, and no no-show will be counted. Tickets can still be refunded before 20:00 on the day of the visit, but it will be counted as one no-show. Tickets and refunds are not available after 20:00 on the day of the visit. Each person can be counted as having a maximum of one no-show per day. If a total of three no-shows are accumulated within 180 Mga araw, from the day following the third no-show, tickets to the Palace Museum and exhibitions will not be available for 60 Mga araw.

Invoice Issuance: If you need an invoice, please issue an electronic invoice through the “Museo ng Palasyo” mini-program within one month from the date of your reservation, or bring the original valid identification used during the reservation to the ticket window of the Visitor Service Center for on-site processing.
